Venezia! (Venice)

Ello govnas!

SO! We went to Venice today and it was pretty much the bees knees. I am sitting back in my little cafe in Florence at Hotel Ariston and still feel like I'm on a boat. I mean seriously the room is moving. But anyway, Venice is truly one of a kind and a must see if you are visiting Italy. It is the priciest city I have been to thus far, but hey when in Venice I guess. We got the first train this morning and arrived two hours later. We met up with our other friends who were staying closer to Venice and spent the day with them. We went shopping, ate lunch (I had spaghetti alla bolegnese sauce) and just walked around. Of course we got a gondale ride and I took a pretty cool video. Unfortunately our dude didnt have the cool hat and he didnt sing. But he did tell us some interesting facts about the city. He told us that in the small little canals it was only like 3-5 meters deep and in the grand canal only 20 meters deep. I guess when I think about it thats not too surprising but just kind of interesting to think about. Also the water rises and falls through out the day about six inches...he said because of the moon, I think it may be traffic lol. Literally everything is taken by boat so we just got a "bus" pass for the whole day and rode up and down the canal. We went to the Hard Rock Cafe and a buch of beautiful glass shops. A near by town, Murano, is know for its glass blowing and the streets were filled with the different glass items. I just thought about how many different people we have met since we have been here...I think we have met people from literally every livable continent...today some Australians were talking to us on the boat and were basically down playing Venice before we got there. LOL He said "Yeah this is nothing compared to the French Riviera, you young people need night life not old buildings." That cracked me up. What a silly man. Well im off to bed, going to spend the afternoon in Florence and then take the bus back to home base. In the morning Im posting a video of the gondale ride and also a video of a typical cab ride anywhere in Italy, lol. Ciao!
